ABOUT THE PRACTICE
Ruth Lippin has been successfully treating children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety and OCD, on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, for over 20 years. She began her career as an attorney but found that anxiety was limiting her ability to function at her best. Like many others, she spent years trying various treatments that did not help. Fortunately, she finally came upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a type of treatment specifically tailored to the needs of people with anxiety and OCD. This treatment provided her with the skills, knowledge and tools needed to overcome her own anxiety. The difference was so profound that she was inspired to change careers and become a CBT therapist, dedicating herself to helping others with these conditions.
At Conquer Anxiety & OCD, Ruth Lippin has created a personalized, boutique practice that specializes in treating anxiety and OCD. Clients appreciate Ruth’s warm, engaging style as she holds you accountable in a kind and gentle way. With her guidance, you’ll begin to live the full life you deserve.
Given her personal experience with overcoming anxiety as well as her first-hand knowledge of the challenges of living, parenting, and working in New York City, she can relate to many clients’ struggles. This personal understanding, combined with cutting-edge, research-based treatment, results in concrete change for you.
TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY
As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, Ruth will educate you about anxiety disorders and OCD, teach you how to think differently about these disorders, and show you how to behave in ways that will ultimately free you from the incapacitating effects of anxiety and OCD. When appropriate, she will accompany you into your feared situation or visit you at home.
In addition to CBT, she incorporates exposure and response prevention (ERP), mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) into treatment.
